Thanks for your time in browsing the code. It would be nice to add it
as a archetype so that users can get the application out of the box. I
will try to add that as soon as I can make some time. Can you please
create add a small spec for what should and shouldn't be in the
archetype.

It would be cool if your more complex sample could be available as well.
On a more general level, I'm in the process if rewrite of the
nbm-maven-plugin to allow easier netbeans platform based development. So far
I've focused there primarily on creation of modules into the IDE (as that's
what I needed at mevenide.codehaus.org)
the features I'm after are:
1. creation of a "nbm-application" packaging that would simplify creation of
the whole application. Include goals for zip creation, jnlp creation.
2. allow composing the application from dependencies, rather than pointing
to a netbeans installation. That would render the "netbeansinstallation" and
"enabledClusters" parameters obsolete and give people more power with regard
to what to include and what to exclude frm the platform based app.

You did mention these changes earlier as well and I looking forward to
it more than anyone since I am starting development 3 desktop
applications. Both the features are just simply COOOOL! I would be
glad to help in any sort of testing in this regard.
Thank you,
Imran

Hi,
We have been learning NetBeans RCP for little over a month and since
we use Maven as the build tool for our projects we were deeply
inspired by the work done by the NetBeans team and a wonderful
NetBeans Magazine article on NetBeans with Maven by Emilian Bold.
In our process of learning we have tried to achieve some of the core
tasks an application would require in order to function as an
independent desktop application. We have also recorded our progress in
VCS so that we can identify the changes required to achieve a
particular task. One can find the project at the following location -
http://repo.or.cz/w/smart-selection-suite.git
If you do not have git installed locally then you can use the snapshot
link in the history.
We would be extremely grateful if you would be kind enough to give the
project some time and would provide some feedback. We would also
welcome contributors and spec providers .
Thank you and best regards,
|
