I finally made my project work with NetBeans API's. Everything looks and works as I expected but I'm having performance issues I was hoping to get some feedback on.

The nodes and their children are all generated by retrieving data from a database using JPA. I understand that this introduces a delay but I hoped to reduce it by just loading the child list once making any other requests faster but that's not the case.


Is anyone out there with experience on performance with child generation from database that can share some pointers?
