Could your browser be blocking the script?

You can't enable it in firefox, it is due to firefox security. If you
are using NB 7.1.x, when you test the restful client you are given the
option to run the test client in a separate web application. Select that
option and select the web application. If necessary just create an empty
web application first. This feature was added specifically to address
this problem.
