Greetings to all,

I am developing a POS (Point of sale) system that is a computer based with Java. I have never had a chance to work with source codes that interacts with external devices like credit card terminals and so on...

my question is how and from where do i start to accomplish this. I googled up a little, and I ended up with Java SmartCards technology.

Is that the way to go?

I would be very greatfull if i can have a simple example where the user submits on a jTextField and hits a jButton, the numbers would be displayed on the credit card terminal screen, and when the transaction is successful, it sends a confirmation back to the source code.

Any one please, give me some hints.
