|
|
I typically program on a PC, but I'm on vacation and stuck with my MacBook Pro (talk about your First World Problems). Up until yesterday, I wasn't really having any issues when suddenly NetBeans became extremely sluggish (~30 sec to start my small program after pressing Run Project when before it was < 5 sec). NetBeans for myself runs at over 500 MB RAM.
I exited NetBeans to restart it, hoping the issue would fix itself, and instead it loaded in the smallest window size possible with NetBeans, and I found the text editor fonts were changed (I had them on default before).
I reinstalled the newest version of NetBeans, and the program starts up in the last window size but immediately shrinks to its smallest size and the fonts are the same (i.e., not what I want).
Not too big of a deal, I guess, except it also (apparently) changed the way Java draws Font.MONOSPACED/TRUETYPE fonts within a JFrame. It's not even the same font. I am also unable to change NetBeans preferences. The Preference (CMD+,) pane does not open or even do anything.
Aside from reinstalling NetBeans and starting it back up, nothing else was changed (I did not reinstall Java, or change anything with Java).
TL;DR: NetBeans(Mac) won't let me change preferences and starts with tiny window size. Also JFrame fonts are weird-looking.
Thanks in advance for any help.
EDIT: One of two things may have solved my issue:
1) I restored Java Defaults through the Java Preferences (/Applications/Utilities/Java\ Preferences/). I was using a third party Java 1.7 because my PC has 1.7 and I often switch between the two for school.
2) Deleting everything in the Java cache. (~/Library/Caches/Java/cache) |
