In my new install of NetBeans 8.1 I tried to create a new node.js application from the create a new project choice [File->New Project->HTML5/JavaScript]. But there is no option for node.js on the right side of the dialog under the title “Projects:”. I have version 5.0.0 of node.js installed and I see that under the menu item for Options->HTML/JS the node path is correct.
Any thoughts on what’s going on?

Hi,
based on the screenshot, you are trying to create sample project. Which
is fine but the sample project don't have a "NodeJS" in their name.
NodeJS projects have a icon of blue globe with a little "n" in the top
left corner (e.g. "Knockout Messages Sample"). If you'd like to create a
new empty (aka not sample) NodeJS project, you need to invoke File->New
Project->HTML5/JavaScript, not File->New Project->Samples->HTML5/JavaScript.
