Hi all,

I tried to register JBoss 5.0(stable) in netbeans 6.5 but could not. the problem is that the Domain combo box is empty and Domain path textfield is disable on server properties page of Add Server Instance dialog box . I followed underlisted steps:

> unzip JBoss 5.0(stable) i downloaded

> select add server by right clicking on server instance

>choose JBoss Application Server

>specify my installation location to directory where the jboss is unzipped

Please could someone help me out.

Thanks
ganiyu

Lo he trabajado y no me ha dado problemas Very Happy

Hi,

See the issue:

http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=154800

According to the issue, the current plan is to get it fixed in 6.5 Patch
2 which
will be released at the end of January 2009
http://wiki.netbeans.org/NetBeans65Patch2Plan

You can also check
http://hg.netbeans.org/release65/file/tip/j2ee.jboss4/src/org/netbeans/modules/j2ee/jboss4/ide/ui/JBPluginUtils.java

Search for getDomainRequirements5x and getDomainAlterRequirements5x().
The workaround likely is to create empty files and/or copy existing ones
to the certain locations.

Thanks,
Dmitry

Hi Dmitry,

it's good to hear that you're going to fix the "add JBoss server" issue by the end of this month. I've also encountered this problem with NetBeans 6.5 and JBoss 5.0.0 GA (I'm using fedora 10 64bit by the way). As a fallback option, I registered my other AS which is a GlassFish v2.

But this proves me that it is impossible to create e.g. an enterprise application in NetBeans 6.5 if you don't have a server installed at the moment. Am I right? And if yes, isn't it a bug? Because I think so... I'm not so familiar with NetBeans, if there is a workaround to create an EAR without having a server registered, just let me know, I'm interested.

Dimitry's workaround works.
Copy the following files from jboss-5.0.0.GA\common\lib\ to jboss-5.0.0.GA\server\default\lib\

"jboss-javaee.jar"

"lib/jboss.jar"

"lib/jbosssx.jar"

"lib/jmx-adaptor-plugin.jar"

"lib/jnpserver.jar"

"lib/log4j.jar"

Thanks.

How do I apply the workaround in the plain Java NetBeans 6.5 IDE?

Got the same issue with NetBeans 6.8 and JBoss 4.0.4 with no default domain (seems like my custom domain doesn't match for NetBeans)
