I'm sorry, but this is pretty much useless.
What would be infinitely better:
A Java ME Netbeans 6.5 demo (ideal: netbeans.tv) showing data binding to JSON for a
grid...end to end from creating the project thru deployment onto Glassfish.
Show client & server
There is a partial demo on a blog but the app is zipped using Mac so it doesn't unpack
properly on a Windows box.
Also, there are a LOT of unanswered questions.
My company is going to be doing a high visibility Mobile project for a Fortune 500 client
in Q1 of 2009, so we were hoping to use Netbeans/Java ME.
As the President of the company, I can't go in this direction if we don't have decent
product support.
Please help!
Thanks!
Andre Lockhart, President

Thanks for the feedback, Ted, you're not the first to ask this question. :)
Ideally every tutorial would also be produced as a screencast as well,
however so far we are trying to focus on getting screen casts out for
key features, but not all features. Two new Java ME screencasts are in
production and should be available soon. The reasons we still produce
written tutorials include: 1) easier to translate documents than
screencast voice-overs into various languages; 2) easier to distribute
both on starter kit DVDs and over the internet (a healthy share of our
user base has limited internet bandwidth and cannot access screencasts);
3) other reasons not relevant to this list.
All that said, I personally agree with your opinion on this and will
make sure it comes up at our next documentation meeting. I think more
visual instruction on our site would really be useful and it's an area
we can really improve on.
Cheers,
Brad

Hi Javed,
The only visible change to the UI in the MIDP Quick Start that I could
find is the addition of Datbinding Custom Components. These do not
affect the Quick Start, but I did update the image to the current
version today. Thanks for alerting us to the need for updating this image.
Cheers,
Brad
