Should I use Woodstock in a new Project?
And Icefaces?
Is Icefaces replacement or just temp decision?
What NB >=7.0 will officially support? Icefaces, MyFaces (YourFaces Smile ), RichFaces...or you'll create new one ?

ICEFaces is a partner, and is not a NB project other than the fact they use the NB APIs to support things. That in the IDE support. Below that ICEFaces is a JSF implementation. Either way, ICEFaces is not from Sun nor the NB project, but again, they are a partner.

You should use ICEFaces going forward in my opinion. Visual Web will probably come back, might possibly might be a better way of putting it, as something entirely different and way more flexible and usable, but for now, if you go with ICEFaces, as it has been around a while, and keeps growing, you should be fine either way.

I don't know if we will be seeing those type products being built into NB or not. I'm not the policy setter by any means; far from it. I don't personally see why NB couldn't package partner products such as ICEFaces with this or that release, but ICESoft works on their own modules, projects, and products though. ICEFaces is a project/product of ICESoft (http://www.icesoft.com). I think that would be between them and Sun whether it is packaged in NB or not.

On the phone call about visual web and woodstock, visual editors were talked about. I think it might be possible something is done for NB along the visual line in the future based on some comments from that call which others on this list were on; basically many of us put forth the opinion it is something very much needed, and Sun said they would look at it. This will not be in 7.0, 7.1, and maybe even 7.5(?) though if ever done again; I haven't seen any plans nor seen any messages on the topic from anyone I know. I believe JSF support will be available in NB for a long time regardless as it relates to editing etc; I'm specifically talking about a visual designer not being available.

As it relates to just using JSF libraries it doesn't matter what you use with the editor since no visual interface is used. The visual designers make it intensive to work generically without the specifications supporting efficient two way editors at the base level; thus we had visualweb using Woodstock and being very specific. That is part of the problem with the old visual designer. The components and the JSP pages and parsing etc, and the components themselves not being able to return something designed for use with design time rendering and display.

I have no idea what libraries will be packaged with NB 7.0 as it relates to JSF. I bet we'll see Apache MyFaces if I had to guess, and ICEFaces will be the preferred solution if one wants visual designers and the like. That is all presumption.
