At my computer Netbeans is wasting valuable resources every day by scanning standard (non-editable) libraries and javascript pluginfiles, like Tinymce or JQUERY files over and over again.

Is there a way of configuring the task scanner to exclude certain files or directories in the include path.

I'm sick of having my task window cluttered with warnings about non standard CSS fixes for MSIE, or javascript files I will never touch or edit, like tinyMCE or Mootools or JQuery.

Of course I can set the task window for current edited file only, but I prefer to have an overview. And switching takes time.

It would be nice, if there is a way to achieve this.

I don't think the filter in the task window can be at help here, but maybe I'm wrong.

Thx Janghou

My vote for this too. Excluding folder from project would be another
very helpful feature. I have an project with big number of folders
that actually not belong to project and could be excluded (folder
structure of project is often given, not created by myself). But there
is no possibility in NB to do that. Performance of such project in NB
is very low, simple excluding folder from project would solve problem.

have you tried to adjust the filter to your needs? Click Filter button in Tasks
window > Edit > Keywords - here you can include/exclude files, folders etc.,
it's quite powerful IMHO.

I had to disable task scanning cause I couldn't ever get the ignore folders regular expression to work.

Thank you for suggestions. But it is not comfortable at all. I'd like
ignore certain folders, not files. And not only prevent tasks
scanning, I'd like certain folders do not appear in project.
It would be much better right click on folder -> exclude from project,
fast and simple. It would be also reduce number of visible folders in
project.

I agree, please, feel free to file an issue [1]. BTW the regular expression can
ignore folders and not only files, of course.

for Tasks please follow the steps I wrote earlier:

Quote:
- in order to avoid task scanning for a folder, do this: open Tasks window,
click the Filter button > Edit... > Keywords - it should be possible to
include/exclude files you are interested in;

Thx Thomas,
I was under the impressions those were meant for not showing in the window but still scanning.
