I am writing a program that gets user input then does a series of calculations and displays the results. I am having several probs with this...
1: converting TextField and String to Float for use in calculations;
2: getting system time for use in If/Then statments (using different values in the calculations for different times of the day)

Eventually I would like to perminantly store some of the user input but for now I have made the data the default entry in the text field with the input constraint set to NUMERIC.
I have attached the code below. I am using NetBeans 6.5
