|
|
Hi,
I'm new to Netbeans and very impressed so far - I might finally have found a cross-OS replacement for dreamweaver.
However, one thing I miss is the ability to quickly insert code like html into my file. Especially something I create myself. Like an often used Javascript function, or say highlight a line of text, hit a button and it wraps bold tags around the code. Etc.
Is this what the palette system is for? How would I create a custom one for just inserting some code? If not, is there a plugin for this?
Thanks!
(Edit: Woops - I meant to post this in the Users forum) |

If you go to Tools, Options, Editor, and Code Templates, you can define snippets for different languages.
I'm not sure about highlighting a line and wrapping it in tags though ... you might be able to do that with a macro ... haven't tried it though |

Woah! Huge thumbs up! That's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you very, very much.
Yup, my long search for an IDE might finally be over.
Now to see if it works in Ubuntu.

I have been using NetBeans on Ubuntu for a year now, it is great. I am now switching from Rails development to Drupal, and it works for that too. I thought NetBeans as only being for Java (which I do not know) but it is now my fav IDE. The repos were updated in 9.04, so now you can sudo apt-get NetBeans 6.5 (though I normally use Synaptic myself). _________________ My main OS is Kubuntu anything I ask or answer will be in that mind set. I am an artist, not a programer, so please be patient with me.
Thanks! |
