AST view not working?

Just wondering if any other than me has trouble using the AST view in
NetBeans 6.1 and 6.5? I remember using it in the 6.0 preview days but in
these later ones I can't get it to render anything, the Tokens view
seems to work fine in contrast. What gives?

The language I try with is Java but the same thing happens for other
types, i.e. XML files. But I actually thought that did not matter, as
any language supported by NetBeans would be composed of Element's of an
AST no? I say this since, when I register a
CaretAwareJavaSourceTaskFactory and manually query the current leaf and
element under the caret, I get part of what I would think the AST view
is supposed to give me. Yet all I can't seem to get anything shown in

The same for me. I tried to use the AST view out of curiosity and
there's only the root node showing up. The token view works as expected.
It's the same problem in NetBeans 6.1 and NetBeans 6.5m1.
