|
|
Hello,
I recently installed NetBeans 6.5 on my kubuntu laptop and I am trying to use it as a php IDE. I have apache2, php5 and mysql5 installed.
I followed the direction on:
| Code: | | http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/php/configure-php-environment-ubuntu.html |
But I do not see an option to start a new php project when I start NetBeans.
Nor is there any code highlighting when I open a php file.
What I am doing wrong?
Many thanks in advance for you help |

Which distribution did you download and install from the download page?

I see..
I used the following command:
| Code: |
sudo apt-get install netbeans
|
I assumed that NetBeans included support for PHP by default.
Is there a way to install support for PHP separately. Or do you recommend
downloading from the link you just provided.
And I thank you for your prompt response. |

It's certainly not good if you don't see any php project in New Project
dialog. Can you try to available plugin? Tools -> Plugins -> check
available for php, if not then download php and install through plugins
manager. As I wrote, it's weird .. if you are using 6.5+ or 6.7. then
file a bug, please. Otherwise download newer version, please.
