GWT RPC Netbeans sample app outside Netbeans

Hello

I'm new to GWT & to serverside programming, but not to Java desktop apps.

I've been able to run the Netbeans sample GWT RPC app (the one that returns 'server says '+String when you type String into the box), and it works fine within Netbeans.

But, I've not been able to upload it to my webspace and have it run there successfully. When I try, the clientside stuff works ok, but the attempt to communicate with the server gives me 'Communication failed', which comes from the onFailure class within the AsyncCallback object in the GWTServiceUsageExample() class which Netbeans produces itself.

I've copied the contents of the build/web/ node of the files list to the webserver.

I really hope someone can help. If I can't even get the trivial sample app going, I won't be able to go much further!

There are two ways to communicate with the server.
Try looking at this web page:
