Netbeans freezes when selecting code

Hello!

I'm trying out Netbeans (6.7) and I like it so far, but every time I select (mark) some code the IDE freezes for 5-10 seconds. The project I use is VERY big so I guess that might have something to do with it. I have tried to disable all code completion and other features that might steal resources from me, but nothing helps. I also tried altering the memory settings in the config file.

Is there something else I can try to speed things up?

My computer specs:
Core 2 Duo @ 2.26 GHz
3 GB Ram
Windows XP SP3 (Will move to Linux next week though)

please, could you generate several thread dumps [1] during the freeze? And
attach them to an issue report [2]?
