I think NB could benefit from a built in CSV / TAB editor (grid style). This is a common function in development. NB does open CSV files but they open as flat text files. I think it would be beneficial to have it open more like Excel and also provide some data functions like sorting, deleting columns. etc. Then it could be expanded in the future to importing into database systems which NB already supports via JDBC.

Hi,
I'm a student of Masaryk University in Brno (CZE) and I've been actually working on multiview editor for CSV files for NB IDE - it's my Bachelor Thesis.
The result of my work should be Editor for editing CSV files in plain text mode (with some syntax highlighting) and in table mode (with some actions) and synchronization between these modes:)
I hope that some people will benefit from this module:)

When I'll be done with it, I'll expose the link...

Have you made some progress? No program in java, but I would offer to help (translated by google translate)
