Please note:

From PHP 5.3 onwards, you always need to use zend_extension and not zend_extension_ts.

The latest xampp (1.7.2) comes with PHP 5.3.

Note to NB documentation maintainers: please update: http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/php/configure-php-environment-windows.html#checkXAMPPInstallation
