How to create a facebook application

Hi all,

I'm just trying to create a facebook application. I tried to use the java example ( http://www.netbeans.org/kb/docs/websvc/facebook.html ) to have some opinion.

Is there any other tutorials or waypoints that I can follow.

Because, when I try to copy the waypoints and use the php variations of the codes from the tutorial, I get a "url not found" message that tries to show index.php from my localhost.

I'd really love a a bit detailed responses.
