I have to hit Ctrl-Space to get IntelliSense to pop up for any of the PHP functions. Seems to work okay for my classes and interfaces.

NetBeans doesn't presently support code-completion on PHP built-in functions:

This issue is about autopup. There is couple of options (all enabled as
default) that let's you customize auto popup ($,\,->,:Smile. Whereas
autopopup means that you don't need to press Ctrl+Space to invoke Code
Completion but popup with proposals appear automatically as soon as any
of mentioned characters is typed.

You're absolutely right, of course. I meant to say that NetBeans does not support auto-popup of the code completion tool for PHP's built-in (procedural) functions, and the bug I pointed to covers same. Manually invoking it works fine.

Sorry for any confusion....
