|
|
Hi,
I have just discovered netbeans and I am really impressed with it, and I really would like to be replacing dreamweaver with it.
The only thing is that i can't for the life of me find a feature I use all the time.
In dreamweaver we are able to remote view files and upload a file to anywhere we like, and to ftp open any files.
Is there any way to achieve similar functionality on netbeans?
Any help will be appreciated.
Many Thanks,
Wagner

There is no file explorer for the remote filesystems in standard
NetBeans distributions. I think there is one for FTP from community.
If you want to develop, the php project with remote web site
configuration doesn't fit your needs?

Petr

This will be great.
Please note, when we develop on different physical spaces/computers, like at home, at office, at palm, etc, we never know which local file is the last one. That's why, at DW, I always use remote file manager to open files for editing and not local file manager. This way I ensure I'm editing the last version (the remote server file). When we open a file in DW remote view the file is downloaded locally and then open for editing. When saving, it will be uploaded to remote server.
Different scenarios, but I think both ways will satisfy more people
This is my suggestion.
Regards!
