6.8 is beta. I am not sure what the finished product will include.

The Visual Web JSF interface is too unstable to be included in 6.8.
6.7.1 is the last version that supports it.

I've been worried about this issue too, because most of us, are "drag-and-drop" guys. I hope they can resolve it (and why not visual icefaces too?...)Victor M. Ramirez A.

Visual Web JSF (Project Woodstock) is no longer being developed, so there won't be a Visual UI designer for JSF in Netbeans 6.8 unless ICEfaces comes up with one.

It was not supported since 6.7, but you could still download and install it with no trouble at all, but now with 6.8 you cannot.Victor M. Ramirez A.

This is because there has been no work at all on Visual Web, and the
many changes to Java EE support in 6.8 means Visual Web is not stable
for 6.8.

| It's a real pity. We live in a visual era, after all. It's a bad idea to abandom visual web development pack project. First was the E-R diagramming tool, now the visual pack is cut off. I think the NB guys have something against visual tools. |

FYI, the ER diagramming tool is now candidate for implementation. It hasn't been abandoned.

| geraldomir,
Nope, we love visual tools, we just don't have the resources to keep
developing them. They turn out to be very, very resource intensive to
develop. However, if you have access to some venture capital and 12 or
15 Java engineers, I'm sure we could arrange something... :-)

I think it's a little bit traumatic, at the beguinning because we all "GUI-lovers" are used to this method. I hope we won't have "big troubles" on the movin' =P

Just want to let you know that I'm not going to bother downloading 6.8..
Right now I see lot's of effort and improvements in usless things to me.
I'm sticking to 6.5 at work, that's sad and disappointing.... |
