Hello,
Ive been going through the tutorials for setting up MySQL in netbeans but have ran into a problem stopping MySQL from within netbeans.
I think I've got the correct start/stop comands in the admin prperties:
Start: Path to mysql\bin\mysqld.exe --console
Stop: Path to mysql\bin\mysqladmin -u root shutdown
I'm not using any passwords at this time.
I can start mysql with no problem (using the start right click option),the server starts no problem and get the correct information in the output window and it connects. I can also stop mysql (using the stop right click option) and I also get the correct shutdown information displayed in the output window and it disconnects.
The problem is, if I start mysql again (in the same netbeans session), I can no longer use stop, that option is now greyed out. It seems that I can only use stop once, and then its unavailable. The only way to stop mysql now is from the windows command prompt, or if I restart netbeans. If I restart netbeans I can use stop again... once, and then it greys out again, even after I start mysql again.
I'm using netbeans 6.8 on XP and mysql is working fine from the command line. This isnt a big problem, but I'm a bit confused to why this is happening. Any help on this would be great.
Thanks in advance. |

I have exactly the same problems as described above.
I did see this question asked earlier but the solution did not work for me. |

I am also getting the same problem while stopping the MySql instance from NetBeans 6.8.
I am using MySql version 5.1 along on Ubuntu 8.04 Platform in Java Platform 7.
I am not able to understand that while registering MySql from NetBeans, what are the proper values of path and arguments in the admin properties. I am also not able to find the home directory of MySql.
Kindly help as soon as possible.
Thanks all. _________________ Vishal Srivastava,
