I have a database from which I've extracted a number of entity classes
in a NetBeans EJB project (part of an Enterprise project). Now I've
added a table and I want to create an entity class for it. So I
right-click the EJB project and select "New / Entity Class from
Database". Naturally, the new table doesn't appear under "Available
Tables" (listbox on left). So I back out of that dialog, right-click
the schema in Configuration Files (public_dbname-ejb.dbschema) and
select "recapture schema from database".

Now I go back into "New / Entity Class from Database", and there
are /no/ tables in the listbox on the left. What went wrong? Am I
misunderstanding how to use this tool?

It should work, I think. Try to restart the IDE in between. There is
some caching of the schema objects and restarting might help. If that
fixes it, you can file a bug.

Been there, done that. Also deleted contents of var/cache in userdir.
There are no tables to choose from unless I revert the schema from
Subversion. I've had this problem before, but can't remember how I got
around it. NetBeans 6.5, Postgres 8.3.

Hmmm.. then it might be a general postgres error with dbschema. A quick
search shows these (among others):
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=152739
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=146940
http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=123845

Hope that helps.
