Hello,

I have installed NetBeans IDE 6.5 but would now like to uninstall it.

However, when I try to do that, my computer gives me the following message:

The specified target component - nb-base/6.5.0.0.200811100001
was not found in the registry. The installer
can continue as if the target component was not specified.

When I click Yes to continue, NetBeans IDE 6.5 does not uninstall. At all.

Please help.

Thank you and regards,
Vinko Rozic

Hello,

I have the same problem as Vinko. But with NetBeans 6.8. I wanted to install NetBeans 6.9 but the older version could not be uninstalled. My OS is Windows XP.

The exact error Message from the installer is:
Quote:
The specified target component - nb-base/6.8.0.0.0 was not found in registry. The installer can continue as if the target component was not specified. Click Yes to continue, No to exit the installer.

But if I click "Yes" nothing happens. I only can click on "Finish" but nothing happens. Netbeans 6.8 is still installed.

What can I do in this case?

Thanks for help.

Exact same problem here as well. The message is:

Quote:
The specified target component - nb-base/6.8.0.0
was not found in the registry. The installer
can continue as if the target component was not specified.
Click Yes to continue, No to exist the installer.

Discovered this issue while trying to uninstall NetBeans 6.8 before installing NetBeans 6.9. I also upgraded my JDK to 1.6.0_21 immediately before.

Any solutions to this?

Hi,

your registry file (the <user-dir>/.nbi/registry.xml file) is corrupted.
You can :
- delete the registry file,
- try to uninstall NetBeans
- clean your NetBeans user directories (<user-dir>/.nbi/ and <user-dir>/.netbeans/<your-version>/)

If you wanna make a new install, don't forget to backup the new registry file Wink

Didn't seem to work. The only thing that did work was to delete the NetBeans folder from Program Files, reinstall NetBeans 6.8, and then run the uninstall program again.
