custom look and feel

I am trying to make a program that requires a custom look and feel. How would i go about doing this?

Desktop program? Web app? (I presume so since this is a J2EE forum).
You'll need to be more specific.

OK, There is a look and feel manager in Jave. If you go to the directory where the Java JDK is installed on your system, there is a demo directory. In that you will find the SwingSet demo that has changeable look and feel. Just double-click the jar file to run it.

On my Windows system the directory is: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_15\demo\jfc\SwingSet2, it might be different for you.

The source code is in there so you can see how it is done. Also, you may want to check out: http://www.java-tips.org/java-se-tips/javax.swing/how-to-change-the-look-and-feel-of-swing-applica-2.html. Google is a wonderful tool!

In general people expect you to try all of the obvious stuff to get answers before resorting to a forum post, otherwise you might get ignored.

It is also good practice to search the archives of the forum before posting. If you can't find the answer, then by all means post, but try the other stuff first.

For future reference, this forum is for J2EE issues in Netbeans. Your question is more of a general Java question. A good forum for these questions for beginners might be http://www.javaranch.com.

This isn't a J2EE question so much as it is a CSS/JavaScript question. I would check out online resource on these (http://www.w3schools.com/.com is a good start/reference).
