I'm normally a PHP&MySQL Developper, but I wanted to try JBoss.

I tried to find the solution on the internet, but no ...

1. I installed JBoss 5.1.0 on my ubuntu 10.10 following the guide http://thewiki4opentech.org/index.php/How_to_install_JBoss_AS_in_CentOS_/_RedHat_/_Fedora (but translated to ubuntu)

2. I installed OpenJDK:
java version "1.6.0_20"
OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.9.1) (6b20-1.9.1-1ubuntu3)
OpenJDK Server VM (build 17.0-b16, mixed mode)

3. I installed apache2 with apt-get.

From here: starting jboss is without a problem. I even could open http://localhost:8080 and view the admin pannel.

But, I wanted to try my first application, following tutorial http://hubpages.com/hub/Netbeans-HelloWebApp

When I wanted to deploy and run, the log in NetBeans stated: "Failed"

So, I started the debug mode. The output you can see in pastebin:
- HelloWeb (debug): http://pastebin.com/ErWTBUpf
- JBoss Application Server: http://pastebin.com/WsUziU42
- Debugger Console: http://pastebin.com/rV53RtZz

Questions:
1. can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
2. has netbeans always to work with a JBoss server on localhost. (I've a great server on the intranet: can I use this one?)
3. can someone give me a good advise on tutorials for JBoss with NetBeans?

Thx,

Koen
