Hi does anybody know of a plugin for 7.01 that will add Dreamweaver style ftp functionality?

With a live server browser, etc?

Netbeans and PHP work very well together, but the only thing I miss from my dreamweaver days is the FTP file browser.

I recently grabbed http://plugins.netbeans.org/PluginPortal/faces/PluginDetailPage.jsp?pluginid=13195

which looks very promising, but not had any development for a while and doesn't seem to let me add servers, though the plugin loads. Judging by the comments posted on the site it has been broken since 6.8

I'm hoping development stopped because of a superior version I've just not been able to find via google, or indeed that there is already this option in Netbeans I just haven't found it yet Smile

I'm hoping to find the exact same thing. I love a lot of the features in NB, but without a decent way to browse the remote server and download/edit files directly I'm not sure that I can move away from Dreamweaver.

If anyone out there has anyway to implement Dreamweaver style ftp browsing in NB 7.1 please let us know!

Thanks!

Thank you for that link. I have voted.

I will also look into the remote project although I am a little hesitant to do that as the sites I'm working on are live commercial sites. I'd hate to push something up that wasn't ready.

The biggest issue I have at the moment is getting used to downloading the file before I do anything else. I've been using Dreamweaver for so long that I'm not really into that methodology now. I'll get back into it and keep FZ handy for those situations where I need better ftp control.

please notice that the project from remote server (using upload-on-save
feature) is useful mainly for projects with only one developer (reason
is simple - it cannot avoid overwriting changes of someone else!)

This is unfortunate, of course. In this case, any SCM should be used.

For NB 7.2, we have added remote synchronization [1] - we hope it will
be useful for these cases.
