The NetBeans 6.8 Java bundle includes GlassFish v3 as well.  If you didn't install it with NetBeans, no matter.  You can download it from:
Quote:
https://glassfish.dev.java.net/public/downloadsindex.html
Then register it with NetBeans (Choose Tools > Servers, click the 'Add Server' button in the Servers window...).

When you create a new project (Ctrl-Shift-N), in Step 3, select 'Java EE 6 Web'.

hope this helps,
troy

Not sure how this is possible: NetBeans 6.8 comes with GlassFish v3, not v2.
Anyway, you might want to download a 3.0.1 build from
http://glassfish.dev.java.net. After you install it, register the server
on NetBeans in the Services tab. Right-click the Servers node and select
Add Server. A wizard opens; add the path to the 3.0.1 server.
JSF 2.0 is a Java EE6 technology. GlassFish 2.1 is an EE5 server.
Therefore, no GlassFish v3.x server, no JSF 2.0.

Thank you for all the reply ,
I current use NetBeant 6.7.1 . I will try to download and install Glassv3 today.
ans a few more questions
1) our Server is Sun Java System Web server 7.0
hold some php , JSTL + servlet Project s, is that possible to let the JSf2.0 project run on
Web server 7.0?
2) I try some Jsf1.2 examples, does JSF1.2 also can run well under glassfish V2?
3) NetBean 6.7 come with Glassfish V3 prelude, what is that ?
Thank you! Question

Pardon me, but you said in your first post that you were using NetBeans 6.8.
NetBeans 6.7.x DOES NOT SUPPORT EE6. To use EE6, you need NetBeans 6.8 or the soon-to-be-publically-released 6.9.
GF v3 Prelude is a preview version that came out before the full GF v3. I really cannot recommend using it. Also, I'm not sure it supported EE 6. It's been a year or so since I've used it, however.
GF 2.1 supports JSF 1.2. JSF 1.2 is an EE5 technology.
I don't know much about Sun Java System Web Server 7, so I googled for the product documentation (hint) and read that it is an EE5 server. Therefore, no, it does not support JSF 2.0, which is an EE6 technology.
Note that Sun Java System Web Server is now Oracle iPlanet Web Server.
