Hello,
I believe Netbeans users will agree with me that, support for GWT + AppEngine projects on Netbeans is limited.
Could this be deliberate from the Netbeans team or developers aren't just using Netbeans for GWT + AppEngine projects.
Considering the fact that the plugins for these frameworks are available, I think fix for series of bugs experienced are just what
is required to get Netbeans up as the favourite IDE for GWT + AppEngine projects.

I have observed a netbeans gae plugin on kanai.com. I don't think anyone serious about production ready development should rely on this plugin. It's very limited, and it does not have the resources to develop a robust solution.
Instead what i recommend is taking advantage of the excellent netbeans integration with all things maven. This approach will allow you to develop your web application comfortably using the great features of the IDE and have maven do all the work against the gae server and deployments.
I recommend looking into a maven plugin for gae.
http://code.google.com/p/maven-gae-plugin/
and use netbeans to do development as a maven Project.
If you have good understanding of maven and netbeans, you can have all the features set, as debugging rapid development, profiling, and finally fast app publishing. |
