Subject: (.war) file for Web application in web server

Please help.

After I complete my Web application using NB 6.1 (in my desktop, Win XP and Tested using Apache Tomcat 6),
I see there is <APP_NAME>.war file in ./dist path
Question:
* would I just copy the (.war) file into the location [default web page directory] of SUN box using (configured) Apache Tomcat 6
* would this (.war) file be fully functional as I tested in desktop,
* would I still need to create DB connectionStringa and so on

Thank you.
