I just tried NB 7.2 for the first time. It shows all my projects having unresolved references to either junit or junit_4. I have never used junit and don’t want to now. How can I convince Netbeans that my projects really do not need or want any junit libraries?

I think you'll need to remove the library reference under Project Properties | Libraries | Compile and Run Tests.

Other option is to install the JUnit plugin...

Right-click project, select Properties. Click Libraries, "Compile Tests"
tab and deselect JUnit.

Thanks Glenn. I guess those were always there and 6.9 just ignored them?

I don't know, I've never paid much attention to them. As you probably
noticed, NetBeans has changed the way it handles JUnit because of the
licensing, so maybe that had something to do with it.

I actually [under]use Junit and had the same issue when I upgraded to 7.2.

By the time I finished googling for help and posting a question NB had downloaded and installed JUnit in the background (I think no indication) and the problem resolved itself.

Yep, before I got Glenn's answer I clicked to resolve the problems and
Netbeans installed Junit which did clear it. I have since removed the
references as I just don't use it. Still don't know where they came from.

Could be that Junit was included in 6.9 by default and I just never noticed
it.
