Paul,

The option was removed from the Tools menu in version 6.1. Go to the Services window and expand the Databases option, the Java DB connection should be listed there. If it is not then you can establish a new connection and it should appear in the dropdown for available connections.

I started a tutorial and it wanted me to connect to my travel database. Only the root folder is there (travel), the rest is missing. The sample database is there and I can connect to it. So I thought I would delete the connection and recreate it. I can’t add the connection because there are database issues (as I would expect). So I found the sql scripts to rebuild the travel database, but I can execute them because I don’t have a connection. Every thing I see about creating a database says go to the “Tools” menu and select the “Java DB Database” option. (Tools > Java DB Database >).

I do not have that option.

Can I reinstall just the “Java DB”? If so how?

Thanks,

Thanks Gregory,
For future reference, here are my mistakes. Besides the tutorials saying go to the tools menu (including 6.1) causing confusion. When I was under the service tab, I was right clicking on the database tree and not the “java db” tree. Talking about getting hit with a ton of bricks, since the database tree supports other database managers, it would make sense that the IDE would have to know which database engine to use to create the database.

Thanks again,
