Good news! I've got GlassFish v2 back in NetBeans. It took some
fiddling around with the Plugin manager. First see what is active on
the installed tab. I had GlassFish there but it was inactive. Trying
to just activate it did not work. I had to remove it. Then by using
FreeDownloadManager Site Explorer I could find the modules that were
not found by trying to activate GlassFish. They can then be added to
the Downloaded tab and installed. The site that is usefull is this:
http://dlc.sun.com/netbeans/
The modules are in their proper category folders so you could do a few
at a time.
This could be helpfull if you ever reinstall NetBeans as I don't know
if any modules are left alone during the uninstall. You can save them
to another location and reinstall them after NetBeans is reinstalled.
In Windows, the updates are saved as *.jar in .netbeans in your user
documents folder. You will need *.nbm files though to use the Plugin
Managers' downloaded tab so you might as well get them that way and
save them some place safe like a CD/DVD.

Take a look at this site some time. Even if you don't take the
courses, it has lots of good information.

You may be most interested in the Web Services portion.

I don't see what the problem is with this even though it looks like it
will not compile.
I ran the CalculatorApp first, then ran the CalculatorClientApp. I got this

i'm confused .
i work with lots of app servers within netbeans -- usually different
versions -- i usually just use the "servers"
configuration panel to add a new server -- if it doesnt see the one i want;
i may delete it 1st if it doesnt work;
then re-add.
i dont understand the need for the plugins discussion -- but i will keep it
in mind for further reference.

Douglas,
That's correct. The compile-on-save feature gives those errors because CalculatorApp was not deployed. Deploying CalculatorApp and then running Clean and Build on CalculatorClientApp (or indeed just running it) makes the error messages disappear. I've added a note to this effect on the version updated for 6.5

+1. I've never had an issue with the GlassFish support plugin somehow
deactivating itself.
