Hi folks,
Unfortunately, we couldn't find a way to bring you the best possible forum technology, make it interface with the mailing lists, and still have it all work with one username and password. So yes, it's true, you do have to register separately for forums.netbeans.org. It stinks. We know. We're sorry.
We appreciate your patience and your commitment to the NetBeans community! Please take the time to register and share your knowledge with the rest of the community. You can send any problems or comments to webmaster @ netbeans dot org.
Thanks,
The netbeans.org Team |

I had the same issue with visualizing Jpannels inside other components.
Make sure your JPannel has:
a default constructor, and
this default constructor has the initComponents() method inside.
That way the Netbeans visual environment will show the components (fields, buttons...) inside the JPannel when inserted in other components. |

| It is quite unfortunate that you have to register twice with separate username and passwords for participating in netbeans.org and forums.netbeans.org. This is in fact very strange. |

I have used netbeans for years and not bothered to sign up for an account yet.
If we want more people to join in, put a link to the forums on the main netbeans.org page and on the "my netbeans" tags within netbeans. Logging in across sites is possible so if you need help ask.
Then again, the first post in this thread was from 2008. |
