Hi, guys!

Thanks a lot for such great IDE! It's really awesome!

I'm new to it (migrated from Zend Studio), and because of that I feel some inconveniences in working with my projects via FTP.

1) I was confused when tried to create "PHP Application with Existing Sources", because it was impossible to add files from FTP. Some kind of paradox - wonna create project with existing sources, but instead should choose new project.
2) When found how to create project with FTP sources, I was dissapointed with a way of downloading files to my local machine - my project has more than 5k files (and there are only ~100 files with code), but there isn't any option how to de/select files wich a want to download except selecting 'one-by-one'.
3) I can't update my project on local machine in other way than download it completely from FTP. Imo, would be great to get some option for synchronize only files that differes on local/FTP.
4) I can't choose wich folders/files need to be shown/hided in project. That's why I have 5k files and a big folders list.
5) My NB freezes at each autocomplete, I suppose, because of a huge number of files to scan.

I would appreciate for any advices/answers on written difficulties.

Product Version: NetBeans IDE 6.7 (Build 200906261335)
Java: 1.6.0_14; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 14.0-b16
System: Windows Vista version 6.0 loaded on amd64; Cp1251; ru_RU (nb)

Yes, this was "fixed" in the dev builds, more info here [1].

Use "Search" field in the Download/Upload dialog:
- right click -> uncheck all
- type what you are searching for, e.g. "my-php-directory"
- right click -> check all

Right click only the directory you want to download and choose "Download".

Where? Sorry, I don't understand exactly where/when you would like to do that.

Please, file an issue [2] and generate several thread dumps [2] during freeze
and attach them to the issue.

Thanks a lot,

I have the same issue.

It is VERY frustrating to have to download the file list for 1000s of files. I have a file from a virtual root that is above 100s of website virtual roots. We are talking thousands and probably hundreds of thousands of files (so long that I just gave up my "du | wc -l" command.) This is virtually not possible with the download feature of netbeans. I wish there was an option to provide a path or connect to ftp and browse under the "from existing sources" option.

NetBeans needs to know _all_ the files in order to provide accurate code
completion, go to type, go to symbol etc. You can download your sources and
use upload-on-save functionality, it should help you.
