If the RDoc is too wide or tall for the box that displays (and thus gets
cut off) when I control-click over a method, I can optionally press
Ctrl+Shift+Space to get a documentation pop-up with scroll bars.
However, often what appears when I press Ctrl-Shift-Space isn't the same
RDoc.

The attached screenshot shows an example. Instead of the str.gsub
examples that I get when I control-click, I get rdoc about ios.each.
What does that have to do with gsub? What am I not understanding about
the Ctrl-Shift-Space action?

see: http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=149540

My observation is taht Ctrl+Shift+Space shows Rdoc for the 1st CC item.
So it is affected by this issue and behaves as you described.

Thanks Martin,

Looks like this won't be fixed for 6.5 so I will put a note in the
tutorial that Ctrl-Shift-Space is erratic.
