Line Wrapping in dev builds

By committing issue #189557 the new view hierarchy supporting line-
wrap is now turned on:

The line wrapping mode can be controlled by Tools->Options->Editor-

I'm not a devloper, but I am trying to update/change my current install so I can get word wrap working.

I went to http://hg.netbeans.org/main/rev/ce3fdc2a824f, as noted in the original post.

I understand HOW to make the changes, but I cannot FIND the files that need to be changed.

Where are they in the installed file hierarchy? (I have 6.9.1 installed)

Is there any documentation on how to apply changes to existing NB installations?

And if this solution is only for development builds, not final installations, is there any way to turn on line wrapping in my installation?

(Currently the the line wrap option in the editor is grayed out).

Any replies to MarieGale question? I have the same problem, can not set line wrap on, which is a basic feature I was used to in my previous editor. Am I really forced to scroll horizontally? No workaround?

Like MarieGale, I'm not a NetBeans developer, I'm a developer who intends to use NetBeans.
My build is:
NetBeans IDE 6.9.1 (Build 201011082200)

My question is about the IDE as a product: I'm a bit surprised that line wrapping was not built into the text editor from the beginning. Anyone knows the reason why?

If there is a later build that should be installed to enable line wrapping, please let us know which one (and any details on downloading/installing).

Like David, I am not a NetBeans developer, but am trying to use NB to develop with.

Thanks so much - line wrapping would be a BIG help.
