I have been a NetBeans and Eclipse user for long, the latter because I have to use it at work. But for personal projects, NetBeans has replaced Eclipse almost completely as my IDE of choice.

It is great to see NetBeans turn 10!

NetBeans is an amazing tool that made me keep programming Java as a hobby.

I'm working as a development manager nowadays and don't have much time to learn complex IDEs. I'm also the JavaBahia (javabahia.dev.java.net) JUGLeader, so this is important for me and our community.

Using NetBeans I wrote plugins (dtdtobean.sourceforge.net), tools (atabaque.sourceforge.net), Java Magazine articles about JavaHelp, XML Serialization and BeansBinding and contribute to Marge (marge.dev.java.net) and mOOo! (mooo.dev.java.net) projects.

Thank NetBeans guys for this GREAT IDE!!

It all started back in 2005 when i was introduced to Netbeans while attending a national conference for Information Technology instructors and i was two years fresh from college. Then, it was unfortunate that our instructors didn't introduced to us Netbeans. I guess i am one of those lucky ones that our paths crossed and it hit me hard - i got hooked. I learned a lot in Netbeans and i appreciated programming more and the robust performance NEtbeans provide with its GUI functions makes it more appealing to me. That's how my love affair started with Netbeans..and until now, i still feel definitely lucky that i get the chance to re-echo this amazing IDE to my students Wink heheh! happy birthday! thank you team!

I have developed several java and j2ee applications with eclipse for 4 years,
I switched to netbeans IDE now and I am very satisfied.
It is very powerful and easy to use.

I do PHP as well as Java, so I am glad the Netbeans IDE supports PHP now as well.

I look forward to what the Netbeans community will come up with in the next 10 years!

I would like to see more sample code and video tutorials -- things to help the average programmer get up-to-speed quickly and overcome the initial learning curve.

The Netbeans IDE is pretty easy to use though.

My experience with NetBeans is not much but still I like it because its easy to use and it has all the necessary functionality that any IDE would need. I use it mostly for my JAVA applications.

I’m with you since Forte for Java. Studying – working – teaching – that is my way with you during the last eight years.
