Debug stopped working

Hope some can give me a hint what I might have done. The Debug of my RCP app stopped working (NB 6.0). JUnit tests debug still work fine. When I run I see it starts listening to a port but both Call stack and Local Variables say "There is no current thread to display the call stack for".

1) I do build with compile mode
2) I even tried manually to use jdwp with shared memory and attache debugger (same way as when doing server dev)

same result.

Since it works for Junit tests it must be something I screwed up - I just have no idea anymore where to search for a clue ...
