in such case, you use New Application from Remote Server wizard, right? If
yes, Manage remote connection on the 3rd step (named Remote Configuration).

And also double check that you have provided a correct FTP information (URL,
remote directory).

Yes, try this. Simply create a new empty PHP project, open its properties
(right click the project in Projects view and choose Properties), select Run
Configuration and choose Remote Web Site and verify that the correct Remote
Configuration and Upload Directory is selected (best to review the connection
URL, just below the Upload Directory field). Close the dialog. Right click
Source Files (in Projects view) and select Download - a popup window with
found remote files should appear. If it's empty then something is wrong -
either your remote directory is empty or there's some problem with your
connection (open Window > Output > Output and have a look at the FTP log). In
every case, try another "full" FTP client (like FileZilla, for example) and
verify that it works fo you.

hi well suddenly it does download but not all the files and directories.

at some point i get a dialog window that say:
cannot log out from server then my server name
Reason: connection reset by peer: socket write error.

and after i press "ok".

in the output panel i get a huge list of fiels and directories it failed to download.

the first 2 are claimed as unknown reason, and all the others has one reason repeated:
"cannot change directory to and then the path. one example of the huge list:
file modules/locall.css Reason: Cannot change directory to //modules/locale.

help please?

best regards

by the way i wish the ftp in net beans was as clear and easier as the one in Dreamweaver. in all other areas NB is much better

Hi Derrida,

First off just have a local project defined.

Have you read:
http://blogs.oracle.com/netbeansphp/entry/new_php_project_wizard1

Have you tried following:
http://netbeans.org/kb/docs/php/remote-hosting-and-ftp-account.html

NetBeans is a programmer tool and does not cater for everyone. One really annoying thing about NetBeans is it does now show you the remote file system (as found in other editors and IDEs) where you can see and download the files from remote server.

The work-around this limitation is to -> right click on the project source directory and select "Download" this will open a dialogue of remote files you can download.

Petr hope you taking note here.

Regards,
Azizur

hi Azizur

i have done all this. the issue is that netbeans only fetch some of the files and directories and not all. those files and directories has no issue of access so there is not problem there.

i have moved to netbeans after working with zend studio and dreamweaver. in both i had no issues working with the FTP part.

any idea other than downloading one by one the files it did not downloaded?

best regards

Hi Derrida,

Only think I can think of is trying to download the files again.

Take a look at:
http://blogs.oracle.com/netbeansphp/entry/ftp_support_added

and follow from step 3 (as you have already done 1 and 2 already).

For every file that was not downloaded keep repeating from step 3 to end.

Hope this help.
