Hello!

I recently tried Compiz under Linux (and KDE4) and I noticed that when using Compiz, fonts in NetBeans don't get antialiased Anyone using Netbeans+Compiz who also has anti-aliasing working properly?

Which JDK? It seems fine to me.

Same config (Ubuntu in place of openSUSE), I've got both 32 and 64 bits
on different machines, no problems.

Hi!

Glad to hear it. I prefer it to be a problem with my configuration (which is fixable) than with NetBeans/Java (harder to fix).

Hi,

I think that java try to look for 'kwin' to apply antialiasing, but if you
are using compiz it do not activated it.

Try to force antialising for your java apps adding the following parameter:

-Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on

For netbeans use (suffix '-J'):

-J-Dawt.useSystemAAFontSettings=on

let me know if this help you out.

..had the same problem, and for me only this worked:

-J-Dswing.aatext=true

(in the netbeans_default_options string in /etc/netbeans.conf, or as a startup parameter in the commandline)

Cheers!

I'm under Fedora 10 with KDE 4.2 and it worked perfectly well.
If you installer Netbeans under home folder you'll find the configuration file under /home/<user>/netbeans-6.5/etc/netbeans.conf
