[SOLVED] Switch to design mode restored it.
Hello and thanks:
I was simply trying to do the JavaBeans tutorial here http://download.oracle.com/javase/tutorial/javabeans/ . Under "Creating a Bean" it instructs:
8. Right-click the MyBean node in the MyBean project tree and choose Tools |Add to Palette from the pop-up menu.
9. Select the Beans group in the Palette tree to add your bean.
This method does not add the Bean to the empty Palette nor does the method from Menu>Tools. The palette is empty after I try the tutorial steps (8 and 9, above).
I've loaded other projects and the palette for those projects is empty also.
I did have Swing and AWT tools (and probably others) visible in the palette earlier. I'm not sure if I lost the functionality as part of this tutorial or at some point earlier and simply didn't notice the loss.
I'm using 6.8 because I will need the OpenOffice plugin. All the auto updates are installed.
I searched here and on the web but there are few solutions and the solutions I tried didn't help.
I ran the -clean startup option and even uninstalled Netbeans and my user files completely, reinstalled and still the palette is empty.
Thanks again for any and all help. |
