I want to use the keyboard as much as possible since I'm a touch typist. In Eclipse there are lots of keyboard shortcuts and you can define your own shortcuts. One of them is called "Select Enclosing Element", which sometimes has the same effect as double-clickng a variable. What's the equivalent shortcut in NetBeans? Or can you perhaps define this yourself somehow. I've looked through several cheat-sheets, but I can't seem to find it.

Select surrounding block

Mac: Ctrl-Shift-. (period)
Windows/Linux/Solaris/Others: Alt-Shift-.

Reverse:

Mac: Ctrl-Shift-, (comma)
Windows/Linux/Solaris/Others: Alt-Shift-,

Thanks a lot! Is there a complete listing of shortcuts where this shortcut is listed? All I find on the internet are the common listings like http://usersguide.netbeans.org/shortcuts.pdf

Indeed. Just go to Tools > Options > Keymap.

The highlights of the keyboard shortcuts are found under the Help menu, by clicking Keyboard Shortcuts.
