how to code Java in NetBeans?

hi, im newbies in Java language and also NetBeans.
I only learned basic Java by coding in Notepad, and now i would want to create Java GUI app by NetBeans,
i was confused that i do not know where and how to code in NetBeans after i design my JFrame.

* i do know VB.net, in somehow, i always confused the OO concept with sequence procedure of VB.net.
does Java button clicked similar like VB.net?
coding upon particular button?

could someone give me some guidelines ?
