|

Hi everyone,
My first post... I was wondering if I could get some ideas on how to work around this issue. I get a semi long pause of about 3 seconds every time I right click to get a context menu. It happens both in the Projects pane or the editor. When I click, I noticed I get a burst of network activity, which makes me suspect NetBeans is looking for something in my homedir. I did a tcpdump and it does look like a bunch of nfs activity. This would make sense since my homedir is an nfs mounted volume.
Now, I realize the first things to consider are the NetBeans user directory and cache directory. But I have already relocated those to be on my local disk. Before I moved them, quitting would take a long time as it tried to save things over the network. Now it's very fast. Scanning projects is also much faster after I have relocated them. However, I still get that context menu pause.
Does anyone know why there is nfs activity when right clicking, and if it is indeed trying to look at my homedir, is there anything else I can configure to relocate it to another path?
This has been happening on NetBeans 7.1 and 7.2 and probably before. I'm on JDK 1.7u5 and CentOS 5.
Thanks! |
