We have set up a git repository on bitbucket and I am trying to clone it using netbeans however I am continually getting the same error. The folder is intialized ok but when the fetch command is sent I get the error message Git repository clone failed. -1 null and nothing is downloaded. I understand that netbeans and eclipse use the same git tools so I tried on eclipse and got the same error so it is obviously something to do with the git component. The clone works fine using git bash and phpStorm. I am behind a corporate proxy but my proxy settings are entered correctly and everything else seems to work. Here is a stack trace of the error:

org.eclipse.jgit.api.errors.TransportException: <url>: -1 null

at org.eclipse.jgit.api.CloneCommand.fetch(CloneCommand.java:178)

at org.eclipse.egit.ui.internal.clone.AbstractGitCloneWizard$5.run(AbstractGitCloneWizard.java:385)
at org.eclipse.jface.operation.ModalContext$ModalContextThread.run(ModalContext.java:121)
Caused by: org.eclipse.jgit.errors.TransportException: <url>: -1 null
at org.eclipse.jgit.transport.TransportHttp.connect(TransportHttp.java:488)
at org.eclipse.jgit.transport.TransportHttp.openFetch(TransportHttp.java:305)
at org.eclipse.jgit.transport.FetchProcess.executeImp(FetchProcess.java:136)
at org.eclipse.jgit.transport.FetchProcess.execute(FetchProcess.java:122)
at org.eclipse.jgit.transport.Transport.fetch(Transport.java:1104)
at org.eclipse.jgit.api.FetchCommand.call(FetchCommand.java:128)
... 7 more

Any help much appreciated,

Adam

Looks like the issue http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqPermissionDeniedJDK7
Give it a try.

Thanks that worked in the most part. I can now pretty much do everything with my repository except ... I can't push a different branch to the repository only master. When I try and push a feature branch I get the same -1 null error.

Many Thanks

Adam
