I've just downloaded and installed Netbeans 8.2 on my win10 desktop. I thought that the "all inclusive" binary included the Apache http server. However, during installation, Apache was not shown as an installed option. Nor can I find anything other than Glassfish. Did I miss something?

In the installer there is a "Customize" button, click that and at the
bottom under "Runtimes" there is a check-box to install Tomcat. It is
unchecked by default.

You can install Tomcat on your own and then add it to NetBeans in the
Services tab but you may find it easier to uninstall and reinstall again
and have NetBeans set everything to its defaults.

Thanks for the reply Mark. I'll try the [un]install method, but I don't recall there being any options for either Apache or Glassfish.

Is the WAMP bundle ok for use with Netbeans?

Apache is its own download. The "all inclusive" download contains Apache Tomcat, not Apache HTTPd...

Thanks Sean. I misunderstood what I was looking at.

Again, there is a "Customize" button in the installer that allows you to
choose whether to install GlassFish and Apache Tomcat or not. Glassfish
is checked by default, Tomcat isn't.

But Sean is right, I hadn't noticed you asked about "Apache http
server". NetBeans will install Apache Tomcat for you, not Apache http
server.

As far as WAMP bundle okay for use with NetBeans; the MySQL and PHP
components of that bundle can be used with NetBeans. I can't think of
any use NetBeans could make of Apache http server.

Of course you would need a web server php development, though Tomcat can
do that, probably more straight forward with Apache http server.

Thanks again Mark. During the reinstall, I caught the customize button. Hadn't seen it before. And, yeah, I'll install WAMP.

Peace
