Please do something about the spam attacks.

How can it be that a spammer can create over 80 posts after the account has been reported repeatedly?

We've found that the spammers are manually creating accounts and posting their content. Unfortunately this means the forums have to be monitored daily and posts deleted individually.

Why not make it a moderated forum where each new user needs to be manually confirmed after registration?

Given the (non-spam) traffic in the forum, this shouldn't be too much work.

Or allow confirmed users to immediately remove spam postings e.g. a reported posts gets "hidden" immediately and if it was a correct report, gets deleted permanently (including the user).

I have no idea what is so different here, but I don't see any other forum have such big problems with spammers.

OK, and how you can evaluate user based only on her username/email? This does not sound good to me.

I started user group called 'trusted members' anyone can apply and member will be able to delete spam and spam users.

I promoted you to be the member of the group.

You misunderstood me. I'm not suggesting to evaluate the user based on username and email but based on their first post(s).

Let everyone register without any checks, but make the first post moderated (or the first 2 or whatever seems reasonable).

Once the user has shown they are "real" users, they are no longer moderated.

I think new user should not able to create new thread...they can just post replies in existing threads....After 5 to 10 post they can create new thread.

That won't help.

There are many spamming users who first reply to existing threads with totally stupid answers like "This helped me a lot" and a bunch of links together with that.
