hi all.

i have downloaded tomcat8.5.4 from the tomcat website .
I have added to server panel into netbeans 8.02 and also 8.1 in ubuntu 10.04.

When i right-click on tomcat 8.5.4 e select run , the server not is detected like running . but if i go from browser to loclhost:8080 i get the page of tomcat.

My jdk is 1.7 but also with jdk 1.8 not work.

So i think it is a problem of integration form tomcat to netbeans.

i have also tried to unchek the use ide proxy( like for windows explanation found on google) but any success

Please help ME ....
Mauro

I tried to use Tomcat 8.5.4 with NetBeans 8.1 on Windows 10, and had issues too. Like you already described, it isn't possible to connect to a running server. And if trying to start the server from within NetBeans, it would hang after startup.

Tomcat 8.0.36 works though.

Happy to help -- for me the combination below is running without a
problem. Drop me a mail at address-removed and we'll solve
it together.

Thanks,

Gj

I have the same problem on my MacBook Pro with Sierra 10.12.x installed and NetBeans 8.2, with Tomcat, Tomee, GlassFish and Payara. I work with latest JDK8u121.

Greetings.

In Netbeans 8 you may have to install the Tomcat plugin manually. After you download and extract Tomcat follow these steps:

1. Tools -> Plugins -> Available plugins, search for 'tomcat' and install the one named "Java EE Base plugin".
2. Restart Netbeans
3. On the project view (default left side of the screen), go to services, right click on Servers and then "Add Server"
4. Select Apache Tomcat, enter username and password and config the rest and finish[/url]
